The NHL All-Star Game is in Toronto this season, and a new twist has been added to the four team, 3-on-3 tournament with a draft being held and those teams no longer based on divisions.
I did like the celebrity captains idea, especially with the Canadian twist having Justin Bieber, Will Arnett, Michael Bublé and Tate McRae serve in those roles.
There are some Canadian combinations that would have been cool to see, so here are a few I though of.
Schitt’s Creek Celebrity Captains: Eugene Levy, Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara and Annie Murphy
All four are Canadian-born and Schitt’s Creek is a popular show. I also think back to the episode where Dan Levy’s David Rose character attempts to play softball, and would love to see him behind the bench…
Letterkenny Celebrity Captains: Jared Keeso, Nathan Dales, Michelle Mylett, K. Trevor Wilson
If this happened, they’d have to be there as Wayne, Daryl, Katie and Squirrely Dan. It’s the only way it can go down. Maybe Riley, Jonesy, Coach and Shoresy could slide in?
For Squirrely Dan, he’d finally get good seats at Scotiabank Arena after saying “If the Leafs think I’m paying a buck-20 for upper-bowl seats, they can sucks my Babcock”.
Shoresy Celebrity Captains
Jared Keeso, who co-created Letterkenny, also has Shoresy, which is two seasons in on Hulu and Crave in Canada. This is another where they’d have to be in character, with Shoresy the captain of one team, and, I don’t know, The Jims filling out the remaining spots?
