Sports storylines can only last so long.

Since the start of college football season, ESPN, FOX Sports, “60 Minutes” and many other media outlets have focused on Deion Sanders and Colorado’s win over TCU in week 1, following that up with a win over Nebraska in his Boulder debut, then a close-call overtime win against Colorado State.

While a surprising 3-0, Coach Prime’s team showed it was vulnerable, which Oregon exposed in a 42-6 blowout in Eugene this past Saturday. After this, the promos hyping up Colorado’s game against USC were comical to see during FOX’s NFL coverage the next day.

You know, the one that shows Deion riding on a buffalo?

Sure, as long as Deion Sanders is coaching Colorado, people will tune in to either see them rebound and shock the Trojans, or more likely, get beat badly for a second-straight week.

While watching FOX NFL games and seeing those Colorado-USC ads, viewers were put on alert about Taylor Swift being at the Chiefs-Bears game in Kansas City after rumors of her and tight end Travis Kelce being a thing.

Swift, who has had quite the year with her “Eras Tour”, selling out stadiums in multiple cities on multiple nights, sitting in the suite with Kelce’s mother just added layers to the storyline that she and Travis Kelce were seeing each other after it appeared he made a move while her tour was in Kansas City.

When Kelce scored a touchdown in what was already a rout of the Bears, Swift went nuts…

And just to add on to the story, they two were shown leaving the game together…

Safe to say, Kelce-Swift is the story everyone is talking about now, while Coach Prime and Colorado take a back seat as we watch to see how the singer’s new romantic fling turns out, and what song she’ll write when it falls apart like all the other relationships she’s had.

The NFL, when it comes to attracting a wider (and younger) audience will run with this while it’s fresh, and all the sports and entertainment shows and podcasts will provide their own spin on what will be the story that carries us into October.

Can football fans and Swifties co-exist? Maybe…
